Sicily Carricante Eruzione 1614 of Planeta comes to life from the Cru vineyard of Sciaranuova, on the north side of Etna, just where the lava flow of the legendary eruption of 1614 stopped.
It is mainly produced from Carricante grapes, with small additions of Riesling, which are harvested in crates in October. After a soft pressing and decanting of the must, fermentation in stainless steel follows at a temperature of 15 ° C. The resulting wine ages on fine lees until the end of March.
Planeta's Carricante Eruption 1614 appears pale golden yellow. The nose gives off aromas of ripe fruit and white flowers. On the palate it is gritty and round, with a nice minerality and persistence, enriched with hints of lemon zest and green apple.
Recommended in combination with fish dishes, it goes excellently with shellfish and seafood.
